Not sure where to post this question - just curious, but how is it determined or who determines whether a Shack participant is a Shackoholic, a Shack Addict, an Extreme Digger, a Digger, etc.? Probably a stupid question, I know - but I'm full of 'em!!!

No, no, not a stupid question at all!  I haven't finished the shovel icons that will reveal the number of posts that will automatically change one's "rating".  I want to keep it as light-hearted and fun as possible.  I definitely don't want any sense of division or position to be inferred by the difference in "shovel-rating", but merely to add color to our already colorful fellowship.

One benefit in highlighting the number of postings by the shovel-designation is that new Shacksters might feel more comfortable asking someone other than me certain things about the Shack (like posting, how things work, etc).

Thanx for your response, Jim. I really can't see how anyone could develop a sense of division or position - I agree that it's a fun thing to do - and a good idea.

Hi Jim,

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I still can't get into any colours to use in my posts.

Also I still have the problem with viewing, I have to slide the bar all the way over to the right on my screen in order to properly view everything.

Also, when I try to put any emoticons on my posts they refuse to budge.

Thanks, Richard

Dear Jim: I keep receiving e-mail notifications on topics that I did not request. Anything I need to do to correct this?

Now, I just checked to see if you activated the Rich Text Editor and I see that you did ... so I'm not sure why you can't get your colors in there ... nor why you have to slide your horizontal bar to view it all.  I thought you said that got squared away from a change I made (can't remember where that was posted), so was that you who said it was okay ... and that it went back to being messed up, or was it never fixed for you?  I've got to ask so that I can try to track down what I may have changed  to put it out of whack.

When you get to the Text Editor do you see the top button on the right side with the underscored "A"?  And if you do, what does it do when you click on it?

I'm doing an experiment with this post as I just unchecked the box that says, "Enable Forum Codes to format post" to see if it has any effect.

Jim

Well, I have no problem moving the smiley around ... and I'm using IE6 right now.

Hi Jim,

When I click onto the A, nothing happens. Also, I don't think i said the problem had been fixed re: having to slide the horizontal bar all the way over to the right to read the posts. Its still the same way

Thanks for looking into this .

Richard

Hey Richard ... do you know if your browser has javascript enabled?  If you're not sure you can check it out through

Tools > Internet Options > Security

And then check your settings by the custom levels.  There is an option about whether you want active scripting to be enabled (I didn't see "javascript" listed, probably because it's non-Microsoft).  If that is turned off then I don't think you can access the color console.

Maybe?

Love, Jim

Hi Jim,

I checked and as far as I can see all my settings are ok. But I still can't access any colours, or emoticons.

Also I have to manually slide the horizontal bar still.

No prob, I can live with it.

Richard

Richard ... did the horizontal problem get affected at all just now?  I removed the table at the bottom with the all the you can's and you cannot's, which had forced the whole page to be wider than necessary.  I didn't think the text was necessary in the first place.

Hi Jim,

Nope, it's still the same, no problem bro.

I don't post that much any more anyway.

Hi Nette!  Of course it's very possible that I may not be able to do anything about this  but that won't stop me from trying!    I do have another question for the two of you (Richard and yourself), though I don't know if this would affect it.  What is the screen resolution you use for your computer?  On Windows, you can find out easily by right-clicking on your desktop (but not on an icon) and then choose "properties".  On the pop-up window choose "settings" and you should be able to see the resolution (800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, etc).  If yours is very low (800x600) it might affect it.

Other than that, I'll keep my eyes and ears attentive to other possiblities.  :)

Love, Jim

Okay, I checked your subscriptions settings and found a bunch selected, so I deleted them all.  For some reason the upgraded database seems to have arbitrarily selected them for many members.  Sorry about that.

Hi Jim,

Could you delete my subscription settings as well, please, with florida orange juice on top!

I feel blessed to have been arbitrarily selected!    Yet, with the Lord I think He specifically selected me and you, and all! hehe

Thanks for this really neat site!

love dave c.    PS I don't have to slide the bar over to view everything. I have AOL9 if that helps.

Hi Dave, my dear bro!!

Those settings have been deleted.  By the way, if you or anybody else wants to check their own settings you can find them by clicking on the "Profile and Settings" button in the left hand navigation bar.  Choose the "Email Notifications Subscriptions"!

Love, Jim
