It is merry Christmas because…
Though he was a king,
He chose to be born in a stable;
He chose to grow up as a carpenter’s Son;
He chose to befriend fishermen;
And walk around helping the needy…
Though his life was blameless,
He chose the cross for my blames;
He chose the thorn to remove my shame;
He chose to be scorned to keep me smiling;
He chose to die that I may live…
Alas he chose me and of course all of human race,
To carve our names in his Hands,
To carry us through troubled waters,
To be our Everything, Every time, Everywhere.
That’s why it’s merry Christmas
That’s why the world is rejoicing.
