Mary and I just returned from a wonderful time of fellowship and fun with a few of the folks here at the shack. We have been "outside" of what is considered normal fellowship with a church for several years after being deeply involved for nearly 25 years.since that time,we have been searching and finding in different places the expression of the Life of Christ that is found in those of us who have found Him.I will confess,it has been frustrating at times to not have people nearby that truly "get" where we are coming from when we say something along the lines of:
"For we know that our old self was crucified with Him that the body of sin might be rendered powerless"
or "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.The life I live in the body,I live by faith in the Son of God,who loved me and gave himself for me."
or " ..Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christs physical body through death to present you holy in His sight without blemish and free from accusation."

Those in the  institutional churches we have fellowshipped and continue to have contact with usually either return a blank stare or a comment "Oh we believe that too" when we share these core life concepts. While we have not cut ourselves off from these organizations and in fact reached out for many years through bible studies, attending services and fellowshipping with them we by our own strength can not change nor force them to see what we seem to see so clearly.
Is it elitism to feel that God has given revelation to his body? How long do we continue on in an environment where the thing that touches our very being is marginalized at best and attacked as "error" at worst.

We have found this life active here and in other places but it is frustration quantified that we need to travel 900 miles and more to really feel and experience  the simple life of resting by faith in the finished work of Christ.
Is this the only place?of course not.Are there answers to our dilemma? I believe there are.Mary and I in fact were discussing this very thing today.Do we go back, hoping to find even the smallest morsel of life mixed in the goo of law?I believe it is possible to do but wonder at what cost.So for now,we continue on fellowshipping here and wherever He may be found
.

Good considerations Dave. They really are..and I see them as considerations that come from one that is alive in the Christ.

Remember that all that we need for our lives and for godliness is wrapped up in Him. Whether our lives here go well in the flesh is always up for debate, but not so in the inheritance of our God.

Love,
Adam

  Adam,

This is exactly the type of encouraging words i had in mind as i posted.knowing  that we are moving through time in the physical world but when we remind each other that we also have an eternal inheritance outside of time,it builds the faith we can use then as we face the day to day "realities" of the flesh
