I have nothing fun, clever, witty or insightful to say as of late - which I just hate because I LOVE to be the fun, clever, witty, insightful one. Since I have had not had much to say lately I have not posted.  Anyway, I have missed the bantering back and forth with you all lately.

I will be glad when Jesus in me has something more to say - hopefully soon.

I love you all very much!

That's cool Shannon. It seems like maybe this is just a quiet season in some lives, which is why there isn't much posting or responding going on. Of course it could also be that during the summer people are busy doing other things. I think that's why Jim felt the need to tell me not to be discouraged about my posting of late. Thanks for the update.

Love back at ya,

Ron

I've been really sick but doubt you would all want me to share that with you.  Though I know it seems most of what I share is misery and problems anyways.  My physical sickness fortunately can't be shot through the web.   Watch out for my mental ailments tho.

good to hear from you shannon.  i checked the shack yesterday and today and was so disappointed that nobody posted anything.  thanks for doing just that, i was starting to wonder where you went.  we just got back from san francisco, very cool trip.  i hope all is well with you.

i was watching a comedian the other night and he was so sarcastic and went on to say "everyone should just live their life and sin when they want because that's what Jesus died for and we shouldn't disappoint Him."  i thought it was funny, not to be taken literally of course.  no offence to anyone.

Shannon--no expectations.  Some seasons are just to take in and some are meant to be conduits of His grace to others.  The body works perfectly without us trying to push out our percieved part.

Ron you are a gold mine.  When the spicket is open, let her flow!!!

Rick, your transparency is always refreshing to me--don't ever present the imposter; he lurks in all of us.

Meeks, because I have been away for soem time, I hardly know you, but have read some of your rich post--thanks

Oh to be free in Christ, huh?  What a blessed place to be.

Dave

Very well put Dave. I truly wish I could walk more in that flow, without the pushing so much. I still haven't got down this newness of living in relationship, (even though I have been married for several years)rather than my more comfortable "hell with people I want to go be alone" mentality.

Wow, you are sicker than I first thought Rick. Have you been having to take off work for all this time? I really hope your sickness breaks through soon so you can get back to working on your dart game.

Meeks, how was San Fran? Anything neat happen there? I was there for all of about a 1/2 hour on my way to Hawaii many years ago so never got out of the airport.

shannon, its a rock and a hard place. they dont want you there sick but dont want to be left short handed either.  they usually dont believe youre really sick anyway. most people abuse the sick time and call in when theyre not really sick. go figure the ways of this world.

dlinn94: thanks man.  good to see you.  i may not be very insightful but i love my relationship with God and the shack is quite comforting.

ron: san fran was fab. my brother and sister-in-law live right in the city and it was great.  we went to the zoo, it was smaller than san diego but just as fantastic, beautiful surroundings, no heat or humidity and the smell of eucalyptus trees filled the air. we hit the aquarium, small but nice, our daughter and i had a blast and took a picture of a starfish that looked just like Patrick on Sponge Bob.  we took a boat over to sausalito and saw Alcatraz on the way over. sausalito was very pretty with French Rivera feel (i took their word for it because i've never been out of the states).  we went to Muir woods and over the golden gate bridge, very cool.  we hit the modern art museum, coit tower, china town, some great restaurants, at one, our daughter made her own pizza and it was actually surprisingly good.  we drove around and went down the crookedest street in the word and got LOST.  the rest of the time, i cooked and hung out with my family.  all in all, a great vacation, and i can't wait to go back.  phew, that was probably  more than you may have wanted.

rickh: i hope you feel better.

Rick:

I was just kidding of course and TOTALLY relate.  I rarely get to use my own sick days because I have to use mine for my son, Alex.  I always feel like they don't believe me when I call in for Alex being sick (which happend quite a bit in the past few weeks).  But they probably do.  And of course, I'm torn between being super Mom and super employee. I used to fret over it but now I rarely do.

Meek - also meant to say - glad to hear from you.

P.S. Rick, I hope you are feeling much better.

Shannon: welcome to the world of cape changing super heroes.  some days i am lucky enough to wear multiple capes at one time.  i no longer care as much as being a super employee, but super mom remains the title i strive to obtain.  that just gave me a Halloween costume idea.  hummmm.

i gotta go finish my not-so-super-employee day and get home to be super mom and  super-chilled out wife.

i wonder what we would all choose if we had to make our own hero costume.

Now that would be a VERY INTERESTING thread...hmmmm....I'll have to think about that one. But off the top of my head I would have to say that my costume would have a dozen arms, two brains, and a 2-foot steel outer shell.  The arms of course would facilitate all the multi-tasking I do throughout the day, the brains - dido, and the outershell would protect my often too-sensitive ego.  Oh and the brains would have on and off buttons.
