This morning I was listening to an older Christian
song that I just absolutely fell in love with way
back when.In fact it had taken many years to find it
again. As I was listening to it something in the
lyrics jumped out to me. And it wasn't so much that
the lyric itself was so different or special it was
just that it reminded me of the fact that the IC is
so[still] searching out 'the lost' in the power of
human reason. Geez I used to it to!!! We reasoned so
much and so passionately. We talk and preach and
sing about how the lost are 'searching for love' and
how bad we feel for the lost and such. It has just
been given to me to sense a sort of fleshly
reasoning in all of that. Not that God's love
doesn't do any of that, just that we have marbled it
together with human reason. So here is what struck
me...

We talk about the poor lost ones [the unbelievers in
the world]'searching for love' and how if we just
had 'niceness toward them' that they would see OUR
love and 'be saved'. Well the thought occured to me
that this 'love' this 'searching' for love is NOT a
fleshly thing! No! The searching for love that leads
to Christ, is something of God Himself. For the
flesh[those in the flesh still] do NOT seek after
God! Guess what? God IS love. REAL Love. Yeah they
can be 'seeking' and 'searching' for love but, what
kind of love is it? Is it the love of God? Or is it really just the ...'love of the WORLD"! You see the
love of the world is NOT God. It has NO PART in Him.
In all it's self pitty and 'how could you's'-it[the
love from /in the world] has no part in God. It is
evil. Now in contrast, the Love of God which can
ONLY come from God, is perfect and right and true
and comes to save that which was lost!

Again I am not saying that the lost need any less
love, just that the searching is a God thing. If
indeed they are searching for the love from God that
can only be found in Christ.

great stuff adam

while i was reading this thread i was very much reminded of the wonderful freedom from no longer being bound by the obsession of trying to endlessly decipher whether or not an individual was truly seeking the love of God, or the love of the world, if you know what i mean?  i truly do not know that we can always decipher that, nor do i know that it is expected of us, thank God!

a question came to my mind:  is it possible that  some-times what a person says with their mouth, is not always what is true to, in or from their heart/mind?   how that is supposed to fit-in with the 'out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks' thing, i don't know.  maybe it doesn't always.

just about ANY-thing can become another opportunity to judge and condemn another, and that is what i was in bondage to when religiously and desperately trying to decide who was what.  (not that i do not nor can not fall prey to that mentality from time to time, to be sure

i praise god with you   knowing that how-ever it comes about ... it is a wonderful thing to be found by God ... and to know it to be a miraculous work of God to be sure!!

JOY ~ JOY ~ JOY !  !  !

Wow, you were up early to write today! Wow! I am
really glad you shared this:

I am with you on it. I think we do get impressions
as to which one may be happening but, obviously we
can not be responsible ultimately to have to know
who,what ,when and were.

You said:

You know what I REALLY liked about this comment? I
like the freedom you exude in not having to
impulsively 'stick to the scriptures' meaning in
some technical/legal way. The freedom behind what
you ask implies that there is not a one size fits
all approach to some things that have similarities
to things stated in the Bible. I love that, and can
remember feeling pressured out of that freedom
before I met you guys many years ago.

Oh and yes you mention a real option. Not all SAY
what it is they truly believe inside. It can be
misleading..I guess though we only have what they
say unless we are given insight otherwise.
