I've often said said that I'm not a political person.   I've never enjoyed discussions about it, I've never had a lot of interest in it, and I know I don't possess enough information to speak about it "intellegently" .  The last few months it came "at" me from every source imaginable.   Besides the telecast of the debates, and then the elections themselves, I thought, "What does any of this have to do with our Life in Christ"  And in the true sense of it, I really don't think it has a hoot to do with the realm in which we REALLY find ourselves in.

Having a Facebook account has allowed me the blessing of drawing closer to relatives I don't see very often, and of "chatting" or commenting on things my kids say about what they're up to, etc.   About three weeks my son, Caleb, began a discussion, prefacing it with a letter from Dr. Dobson.  Okay, here we go!  Well, most of you know of Dobson and his Evangelical approach to the candidates, and who it is we should "urgently" elect, or else! Of course, one of Dobson's concerns was on "Gay Marriages."   Well, our Number 1 son, Paul (I call him "number 1" after a character in the StarTrek series) comes over to the house after reading this, in a great deal of pain and tells me about "Caleb!" . (Dave says Caleb is searching)  So, over the next few days, I'm reading Caleb's note,   the responses he's getting from his friends, and  Paul has his own campaign (lol) going on his own page with comments that read, "Paul is for Equal Rights!"  I am going through a range of emotions!  I am "p-----" at Dobson, I am seeing the religious perceptions in Caleb, and I wanting him out of it, and I ain't seeing the reality of the New Creation evidencing itself in Paul either.

In the midst of this some very QUICK and miraculous things are happening for Paul to buy a house.  He's looked at a townhome, which is a foreclosure being sold for $150,000 (over 2000sq.ft.) which has been reduced to $105,000, and he wants it.  The couple has been given 3 or 4 bids, which makes him nervous, and they accept his in two days!  He's living in apartment with a lease that goes through January, 2009, and after talking with his manager, says that they'll release him from his lease (with no rent money owed) if they can get a renter, and the NEXT day they have one!  He has a housing inspection, and that goes great!  To me, this is ALL the miraculous nature of God's Love and Grace toward Paul in "spite?" of all the fears he has about who he "thinks" he is, and all of the religious perceptions that condemn him.

In the midst of the contrasts I am renewed with thankfulness.  There are moments when I've wondered if I miss the fellowshipping in the "church"  but the more I've observed, heard, and seen in the last few months we ain't missin' out on nothing!  For all we've lost our given up for the sake of Christ, we've been given a Life in another demension!  It's a realm where He meets our needs, and blesses our lives, where "worldly" positions and powers are not where our resources lie, where we don't fear the future because we live in His Life and Hope day by day!

And I am so appreciative for the years I've been here!  For the brothers and sisters who've been with me through the years, for the encouragment of Life, and the revelation that loosens religous perceptions, for you dear Jim, for holding fast to preaching Christ and Him crucified , to the newer brothers and sisters (who are not "new" anymore) your kindness, love, and encouragement are precious!

I'm thinkin' HE's got a gig going on.  There's alot of stirring and shuffling anyway!

(hope this wasn't too long)  Love you All!

I thought about you alot when I posted this, and the post you just put up yesterday.  It's so neat when you're relating with people who confirm the Life that is speaking to your own Spirit!  Your post from yesterday did the same for me!   Love you sister!

Thank you for that Mary. Very full of His life indeed.  I'm still working on the feeling of not missing nothin', but I know what you mean sis.

What do you see when you look at me? Not the visible me that your eyes can see. For in Christ I am dead, yet alive and free. Free to be it all, as he lives in me.

I'm glad you know what I mean, Ron.  I wrote this after being "hit" by so many of those contrasts and contradictions, much of what I don't identify with, that I wasn't sure how it coming out.  For myself, the "missing of nothin" was more or less a phrase to say how much of the "shadows" I've seen last month, and how empty "that" all is.  This Life in Christ is more precious to me than anything!

    Love you, brother!

Mary,

I can certainly appreciate that his life keeps us safe from all the false hopes in the world.

On the contrary, Mary, not long enough.

Is the coffee still hot at G-B Blue Monday's?
