OK, things are way too quiet in the Shack!  Oh, I was just kidding about the "rapture" thing--it was just a blast out of the past  Just miss ya'all.  Enjoy ducking in and out, just reading and sometimes writing and connecting with others on the journey.  Maybe everyone's doing their taxes

Taxes been done for a while, but I've been busy working on the house. My youngest daughter is moving back in so I decided that it wasn't going to happen without making an extra bedroom out of the long back family room.

Did the rapture occur?

I needed that laugh!  Everyone has been sooo busy. I know I'm extremely busy and can only peep in and out.  I'm with you Dave, I miss everyone too when nobody's posting.

Shannon,

Yeah, kinda makes me appreciate the intense activity of the "normal" flow of things, especially when things come to a seeming halt.  I don't know, maybe the rapture did happen:  Ron seems to be up in heaven!

Don't worry yourself over that one ... these are guilt-free explanations! I enjoy letting you guys in on what I'm doing from time to time. You see, it's easy to imagine me sitting at the keyboard because that's what I'm doing when I post ... now you can picture me putting a wall up, priming and painting it! :)

A true story a woman I knew told me was that she had become a new Christian and the last sermon she heard was on the rapture.... going into much detail.  It really affected her.  She thought a lot about it.   The next Sunday she showed up for church and no one was there.  She started panicking and then saw the pastor coming across the parking lot.  Her immediate thought was, "He didn't make it either!"   Then she was informed that it was the week-end of the time change and she had forgotten to adjust her watch.

Also.... just by way of information, I hear that Lowe's is having a sale on remodeling supplies....   Just in case anyone has any more needs along that line.

This proves how out of it I can be, Dave.  I thought you wanted to discuss the rapture concept/idea in a serious way.  Boy, am I not paying attention, huh?  Been very distracted and busy lately myself.  And I really didn't "get" Ron's response either.  I was thinking to myself "Huh?"...had to reread everything to figure out what was going on.

and my sig line reads it's so bright in here,,,duh!  Need to get a new light bulb to replace the burned out one.

<Puts on my extremely dusty thinking cap> No my friend, for you see, for note that I did not say (looks down at you from heaven, but merely, looks down from heaven). Everyone here is with me there as well you see. Do you not know that of the many meanings of the word "down", one of them is "perfect, or complete?" Take for example this sentence, "Dave has that math problem down." Therefore, I say unto you, live as one who "looks perfectly from heaven", for we all have it down pat in Christ.

How can we not be, are we not "down" with the Lord? I know, I know, yet another meaning of the word "down." Ghetto speak, actually. Not enough time to look that one up so there is some research for ya's. And yes, while this is kind of witty as well, being that I am half awake trying to get ready for another day at work, there is truth there somewhere amidst my butchering of the grammer. Please feel free to reread it again and again with dictionary and a glass of water in hand. <-----There is a joke there, just a hint.

Have a peeeeeerrrrrrfect day!

Ron

OK, OK, I am pretty sure this thread has run to its terminal point--I'm thinking I need a nap, but I just woke up  I would have to get "down" for that as well.

hey everyone ... rick came over one night last weekend.  another male friend here was here, too ... hanging out with the hubby and i.  guess what i was doing in one room, while they were man-talking in another room?  you guessed it ... LAUNDRY!  i had about 3 loads of it on the bed to be folded.  i called out to rick in the other room,

hey rick!  i'm doing laundry!  come help me!

but then i didn't let him of course.  ;)  but what was funny and most enjoyable was when all 3 guys came in the bedroom and hung out with me while i folded.  talked about all kinds of things, but ... i thought it was especially fun when the  guys were all talking about the various folding 'techniques'!    i think they decided that mine was a combination of air force and army all rolled into one.

so anytime you guys have a need to discuss laundry techniques, rick is your man!

i forgot to mention ... that i was not the least bit even aware of my folding at all ... just kind of the mundane thing ya do without giving much thought to it ... but i was sooo enjoying the company and the conversation ... we went all over the place with that.  i wasn't even aware of the folding until they started the 'technique' discussion.  that was just a little fun digression ...

this is just my insecurity creeping up   .... didn't want anyone to think i was bragging about any 'techique' or anything.    not that anyone really gives a hoot!

okay ... enuff ... i'm done ... just wish you were all here to join in the chats together!  i think our bedroom would have to be a little expanded tho'.

Okie dokie Rick. Don't work too hard and break a nail there buddy.

And Sherri, I'm sure with you guys together, they were some awesome convos. But more importantly, which folding technique to you is better, Air Force or Army? I was in the Army and if there is a better way, I need to know.

okay ... ron ... i haven't a clue really which one is which for sure, but ... i think that rick was also army and mentioned that the army rolls clothes, the air force doesn't.  i learned the rolling from tips about traveling and being able to make the most use of suitcase space.

my daddy WAS an air force man ... i was an air force brat ... so a lot of that 'technique' was included in my upbringing, as my dad taught my mom how to do things the air force way.  but yeah, the rolling ... didn't learn it from my dad.

we lived on air force bases a few times when i was growing up and there were, i kid you not, HOME INSPECTIONS!  the floors had to be clean enough to eat off of and waxed and shiny enough to see yourself like in a mirror!

my mom didn't seem to mind.  she was quite the trooper about it at all.

i know this is all waaaaaay more information than anyone wants or needs ... just personal little life trivialities ...

funny thing is ... if there were to be home inspections in this stage of my life ... i can guarantee you ... things would NOT 'measure up' ... too much work to 'measure up'.  the point is, like everyone else in life,  i just like things the way i like them.  everyone can be different, and some are alike.  we do not have to be 'the same'.  i don't have to be the same as anyone else.  and no one has to be like me.  thank god for that grace and freedom!!  the cleanees don't have to hold it against the messies, and the messies don't have to hold it against the cleanees, nor any combination of both or even others

would you say it is safe to say:  there are no cleanees in christ?  there are no messies in christ?

however .... in life ... there ARE allergies  and that's a real bummer!

sunday hugs everyone

Not too much info....really....I love getting to know you guys and until I save up enough money to get us all together, this board will have to do.

I love your little ditti on the cleanees and the messies! I hear you about the "we do not have to all be the same." How boring would that be! It would be like taking a hike in the forest and all you saw was the same tree, no other plant. Bleh. God loves variety! What you said made me think of Melissa. She loves to keep things, and I love to throw things away. That has caused some issues and arguments with us before, but interestingly, the more we yield to each others' way of thinking, I find that I am looking for ways to help her keep things and express her sense of beauty in those things, and she is looking for ways to get rid of what she doesn't really need. I think in finally letting go of those expectations of each other has freed us to, for the first time, appreciate how each view has validity. And something I learned a long time ago I find to be so true, that every negative trait is a positive trait pushed too far. In other words, every negative trait has a positive side.

I'll join in with the sunday hugs

the validity of the view is like beauty ... it is in the eye of the beholder.

the question usually is, who defines what the negatives and positives are ... how are they defined?

is it all relative?

thank god NONE of it defines us with god or each other.

can't wait to meet you guys!
