Wow! I think I just entered a time warp!! It's been so long. Nice to see some names I recognize. I'm Angie, from Canada where it's threatening to get cold for the next 5 to 6 months... uggh. I think I need a refresher course on grace, guys. Help me out!

Hello, dear Angie!

Yes, it has been a long time, Angie from Canada. From my perspective, it's difficult to imagine the weather getting cold since we're still in the throes of summer. Ditto on the uggh. What's been going on with you? Is Neil still jammin' away on his guitar?

A refresher course, eh? Tell us what's on your heart and mind regarding this rather broad request. :)

Well, it's off to work time for me. I'll pop back in again after I get home.

Love, Jim

Hi Jim!

Oh sure... you get to have real summer!!! Neil and I haven't been together for over 4 years. He's now living with a woman and her daughter and is very happy. The kids tell me he's still playing his guitar! :)  I'm remarried, dealing with a rebellious teenager for the second time, I had a baby in February and am on parental leave at the moment.

I know that God accepts and loves me. I guess I take it for granted. I don't think about it much. I just live. I don't like dealing with religious people and have stayed out of the religious system. I hate dealing with the judgment so I just avoid it. I also don't have anyone in my life who shares the grace perspective so I haven't focused on it. At the same time, I think I've lost my passion.

Angie

i have to go pick up our grandson ... early school release today ... i just hopped on to see what was going on at the shack ... not much lately ... but so excited to hear from you!

Hello Angie,

I'm sorry to hear about the breakup between you and Neil. Somehow, something in the wording of your first post gave me the idea you might tell me this. I was hoping to hear otherwise. It sounds as if you've come to terms with things, though I'm sure you've had a lot of hurt because of it all. Thanks for letting us in on the change. I hope your new situation remains stable, I know what it's like dealing with rebellious teenagers.  You are in my heart and prayers.

Our journey through this world can easily take its toll and wear us out in the process, so I fully understand the loss of passion. Our life is truly not found within the confines of this world ... not even in the nice aspects of it.

A grace perspective is more or less a side effect of our union in Christ, which I'm sure your heart will readily testify to, so I won't encourage you to focus on it. I will however encourage your heart to seek that which is above, not of this earth, for that is where our real life is found, in Christ himself. He in us and us in him.

Love, Jim

Hi Angie,

I, too, have thought of you recently when I was scrolling through the member list names.

I've gone through the death of a marriage and started my life over at age 51. Haven't been the best acting person in the world through this huge upheaval and transition, but He has made Himself known to me at the oddest times. He still finds His delight in me and seems to be actually trying to show me how to do the same for myself.

Hope you be encouraged by hanging around. I don't post much anymore, but I still like to read and visit the forum.

-Connie

lost your 'passion'?  kids challenging your daily life, zapping and draining every ounce of energy and strength you have, emotionally, physically, mentally, financially and any/every possible other way, can have that affect!
