Hey guys,

One of the complaints I am getting from some who have looked at the ancient hebrew scriptures I produced is that when I converted the Hebrew characters to ancient hebrew, those characters are actually english characters with a different font that shows up on the screen, and as a result, the text reads left to right, like english does, rather than how it started out when I typed it in modern hebrew, right to left.

I know, way too much info there probably, but I basically want to know if there is a way to make the text read right to left, without having to retype the whole thing again. As an example, I want to know if there is a way to change, for example:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

to read right to left, like this:

.htrae eht dna nevaeh eht detaerc doG gninnigeb eht nI

Thanks and I hope there is a simple way to do this :)

Ron

Hello Ron :)

Are you referring to here on the Shack or on your blog? If it's the Shack, I just did a search and found very little. One suggestion was to use Microsoft WEFT (Web Embedded Fonts Tool), though I'm not sure how involved it is.

You can create a jpg image of the text and upload it to a service like Photobucket and then add it with the Add Image function (as I did in a previous post in this section to display some BBCode). Be careful in making too large of an image or can take a long time to load.

Hey Jim :)

Actually, I'm referring to the printed editions I have, which come from open office documents converted into pdf files. Since we are talking about Genesis to Malachi, I guess the image idea is out. . Thanks so much though for the help.
