As for me I just watch the one life increase as the other decreases simply because that which God has promised He WILL perform, and strangely enough He does perform it.

What sheer relief to see a life that can sit one down at the right hand of the Father in the Kingdom of Heaven and to share in that life that has peace, perfect peace and which dwells upon the earth in the midst of death and decay.

Ye though I walk in the valley of the shadow of Death I will fear no evil.

Much love from a life which has taken the name of Dave.

Wow... this is exactly what Christ has been trying to show me all these years. All my efforts to fix myself, or rather, "save my life", has resulted in losing life (time, energy, joy, etc.). Now that I see Him more clearly, I'm abandoning my life more & more to Him, resting more easily, and trusting Him with everything. And, wonder of wonders, the more I decrease & He increases, the more abundant life is!

The gospel is such good news that I don't have to worry about defending my "religion".

Great post, Perry.

Yes, "defenders of the faith".  It was a main theme in one of the churches I attended.  Thought to be a positive.  As if Christ needs defending and as if he even defended Himself.  A lot of people are up in arms with regard to the Moslem protests over the Mohammed cartoon.   But how different is it from the mentality of some things in the ic?   Perhaps they're not as demonstrative, but it is still the same religious mindset.  Both groups seem to be defending their spiritual leader or god, but wonder if it doesn't have something more to do with their own defense.

In regard to the original question. As far as Christ in my everyday life.  It seems that everything about me is being turned upside down, inside out, and shaken.  He seems to be sifting through all the insecurities, and false peceptions that have been in my thinking.

What seems to really be permeating my mind, is that no amount of study, meditating, or anything else is going to bring me into greater revelation.  It seems that the times that I rest and quit, beating myself with trying to understand that he gives me a revelation as it pertains to that day.

It's encouraging to know that HE is our comfort.  Our justification, our peace, our all in all.  More than anything I'm learning that his acceptance is more important than the acceptance of this world.

Very encouraging Kim.

What do you see when you look at me? Not the visible me that your eyes can see. For in Christ I am dead, yet alive and free. Free to be it all, as he lives in me.
