    Hi Jim,

Have you removed the access to "links" of other websites here?   I miss visiting some of them from here.

Hi Mary!

All you have to do is to click the shovel logo in the nav bar and you will be taken to the home page where the link for "Links" is.  :)  If you're wondering about the missing links on the Shack left nav bar here is the reason:

After having read a recent article about simplifying web site navigation I decided to put some of the ideas into action.  The main criticism from the article dealt with the common practice of including links to every other section of the web site in every page of the web site.  What made a lot of navigational sense to me was the suggestion of making proper use of the home page.  Everything links from the home page
- with a reciprocal link from all pages back to the home page.  Apparently, it's being realized that it's more important to help site visitors narrow their search for site info.  It's also been suggested that most web surfers come to ignore - or maybe even be negatively affected by - ever-present nav links.

As you've no doubt noticed I've removed all links from the Shovel Shack navigation except links specifically related to the Shack.  That is, all but the Home Page logo link.  If you go to the Writings or Q&A section you'll find the same.  I'm not finished with every section, but I'll continue on until finished.  What I also want to work in is to build a "related articles" links area in the Writings and Q&A corresponding to particular articles.  I may even solicit some help in accumulating those links ... hint, hint.  :)

So, after you've looked around a bit let me know if this new direction makes it too difficult or complicated to navigate around here, okay?

Love, Jim

okay Jim, got it!   I was a bit befuddled at first when I saw the changes, but now that you've explained it, it makes perfect sense.  The "related articles" link for the Writings and Q & A section sounds like an excellent idea, also.

I'll let you know how the navigating goes.  Thanks so much!

   Hi Jim,

Navigating was not at all difficult!  I was amazed at how uncomplicated it was.  A 'click" of the mouse and I was right at the place I wanted to be -  visitors needing their search narrowed will find it!
