Looking back at my early childhood years, I've often thought how strange it is that one of my first memories was a prayer and a presence of so much Love. My mother told me one night before bed that "I better be a good girl tomorrow because Jesus wouldn’t let bad girls go to heaven". That scared me to death ( I was 4 yrs old). So as soon as my sister was asleep I prayed.. "God I want to be a good girl tomorrow cause I want to go to heaven" ... that’s all I remember saying. But the thing that I remember the most was feeling more Love than I had even known and that God saw me as "a good girl" already and it was as if I could see how He saw me through His eyes. And through the years one prayer that was a reoccurring prayer, above all others,  I wanted to see me how He sees me, through His eyes and not my own .. And He is still answering that prayer. I’ve realized that that Love, God’s Love, which was so freely given even before our birth…that Love is the same Love that we all have in us and all have always had in us. God’s Love and My Love are one and the same, It is He as well as I that share this body…

I have often thought how backwards we as humans seem to live our lives.

Think of how our life from birth on changes and then it seems we come back to where we started. Think of a baby, their pure innocence and trusting ability to see the world as a wondrous adventure so full of beauty, anticipation and excitement in every direction. Then the hurts of this world put out any flame of life that was once there, now unrecognizable. And all the while our heart is longing for the Love that cannot be forgotten….so the search begins… and we end up being right back where we’ve always been…

It reminds me of the word mutant, all the pains in this world changed our perceptions and blinded us to the point that we were no longer recognizable, especially to ourselves. Blinded by the things we were told and the things we chose to believe.

Mutant: Some significant change in basic structure, resulting in a form of mutation and no longer like the original..

Thanks for sharing your heart in this testimony of the love that has driven you to God, Nette. :)  I agree that the innocence of babies seems a wonderful place to get back to, but I believe we have come to something far superior in Christ. For we have come out of the darkness and into the light. :)

Love, Jim

Jim, Thanks for adding this...I suppose I assumed everyone knew that I was speaking from observation of we as humans in general before discovering our Life in Christ..

kind of  like when a doctor tells a terminally ill patient  that " I'm sorry there is nothing more we can do, now its in the hands of God"....Funny how back wards that seems to me...

Sometimes we believe in what we see immediately in front of us and Christ has lifted us above our mutation as mere humans to soar higher and see a much bigger picture where Life is Alive, and far more beauty than we ever imagined.

Hope this clarifies my meaning of that post...

Thanks for clarifying, Nette. I was wondering where you may have been headed with this.

Yes, as if it hasn't been in the hands of God the whole time. I have often heard statements such as this in that same backward sense you speak of. I will hear that same mind refer to unforeseen, traumatic kind of events as "acts of God". I suspect insurance companies have been behind most of that designation in the attempt to make sure they are not held liable for the massive damages. But it seems a goodly number of folks buy it hook, line, and sinker.

Thanks, my dear sister. :)
